Megan Spell and Whitney Schmanski are expert body mechanics with decades of combined experience in movement science, performance, and design.


From physicians to Fortune 500 execs, they’ve helped thousands recalibrate for sharper performance.

Modbod was built to do what no wearable, fitness app, or wellness fad could: teach people how to operate their bodies.

Megan Spell

Movement educator. Ergonomics specialist. Human-Computer strategist.
A former dancer turned educator with over 20 years of experience across performance, biomechanics, and design, Megan helps people move, think, and work smarter.

She holds:
• BA in English – University of Arizona
• MSc in Human-Computer Interaction – University College London
• Advanced Certificate in Occupational Ergonomics – Colorado State University
• BASI Pilates Certification – Body Arts and Science International

Megan translates complex ideas into simple tools people can actually use. She uses metaphor like a mechanic uses a wrench: tightening understanding, loosening stuck thinking, and securing body proficiency. 

Whitney Schmanski

Movement designer. Applied Movement Scientist. High Performance trainer.

With over 15 years of experience across professional dance, movement education, and applied movement science, Whitney helps bodies recalibrate, whether they’re performing onstage, or navigating the 9-to-5.

She holds:
• BFA in Dance – The Juilliard School
• MFA in Dance Research – University of California, Irvine
• Certifications in the GYROTONIC® Method and Pilates

Whitney merges precision and artistry to restore balance, build resilience, and rethink what the body is built to do. She designs movement like a director crafts a story: with intention, rhythm, and an eye for impact.
